It'd be fun to know someone out there actually saw this, heh.

But yeah, this page is dead. I probably won't ever post on it again. I'm just typing this out before I go to bed, to let anyone that reads this know that I'm back and will resume my normal activities on the internet (technically) today, some time this evening. Pictures from the trip will be forthcoming over the next few days, and maybe even another section on my misc stuff website (www.desbreko.netfirms.com) devoted to the trip. There was quite a bit of amusing comentary between me and Samgee Gamwise (that's his username on OB), so we may just have to put some of it up along with afterthoughts about the trip.

Ginny -
One of the very few things that I took the time to do on the net before I go to bed was to read the latest entries in your blog, and I'm sorry to hear you're losing Ron. You've been on my mind all through this past week and it's made me realize just how much I'd miss you if I weren't able to talk to you anymore, and how lucky I am to be able to. If you ever want someone to talk to, about anything, I'm here. I know no one else could replace him, but just remember that there are other people out there that care deeply about you.

I highly look forward to being able to talk to you today. In fact, that comment right there was about the extent of my clear-headed-ness. Beware the spelling errors, heh.

Basically, I'm posting in here because it's late, I don't want to go to bed, and I'm utterly and completely bored. So I turned to my last resort; my blog. And my leg aches. Even after taking something for it, it's still hurting. I don't know why I even bother taking anything when this happens. It never works. Damn deffective pills.

Right...now I can't remember what it was I was going to say in the second half of that paragraph, because my leg distracted me. Great...can't think of anything to say now. ... ... ... Hmm, starting to get sleepier. Maybe I'll actually be able to get to sleep soon, if I go to bed. Last night, I was really tired, but I still couldn't sleep until about 5:00 AM. And then, to top it off, I had a dream that I really didn't like. It wasn't a nightmare or anything, since it wasn't scary at all. It just made me sad and sort of pissed off at the same time, when I woke up. And then it was one of those dreams that you kind of just continue after you wake up and are sort of dozing, and that just made it even worse. My eyes were actually starting to tear up by the time I finally woke up all the way and shook it off.

And if you're wondering, no, I am not going to say what the dream was about. Mainly just because I don't feel like it. So too bad. Satisfy your curiosity somewhere else. This is actually a lot less...hmm, what's the word? Not entertaining, that's not it. Dang, can't think of it. Whatever what I was trying to say is that this isn't much better than laying in bed a staring at the wall/ceiling, or just letting my mind wander with my eyes closed. About the only thing that makes this better is that when I let my mind wander, it usually comes up with some pretty unpleasant things. Letting my mind wander here, while typing out my thoughts, isn't as bad. I think that's mainly because the typing takes longer, so I don't get as many thoughts in. Or something like that. Who knows, my mind is pretty twisted.

The image of a brain litterally being twisted just popped up in my thoughts. See what I mean? Gah, I hate these long nighttime hours when I can't sleep and there's nothing to do. I think about the most pleasant thing that I know of in times like these is to--no, probably best not to finish that thought. (See, I've still got some semblance of sense about me, even at this late hour. It's now about 3:00 AM, by the way). I don't think I want to open up that particular can of worms just yet. I don't think anything good could come of it. Crap.

Yay, a new paragraph. That's good, because the last one sucked. S-U-C-K-E-D. Somehow I doubt this one will be much better, though. In fact, I'm kind of amazed I'm even typing this well without looking at the keyboard. And this fast, too, with as few spelling errors as I'm making. Maybe I'm a better typist that I thought. Wait...is typist a word? *looks it up* So it is. Cool.

Hey, I wonder how long I can keep up this rant, or whatever it is? I started at about 2:30 AM, I wonder if I can go till 3:30 AM? A one-hour rant? Well, I'm already half-way there, at any rate. My back is starting to hurt now, though, from my funky sitting position which was helping my leg to not hurt as much. *stretches* Nope, that didn't help. I need a better chair. This folding metal one is a piece of crap. Utter, and compelete crap, with no redeeming value whatsoever, other than it can fold up to save space when not in use. And I never use that feature, because it's always set up in front of my PC. I do have another chair, but it's even worse, when used with this desk. So that's no good.

Bah, it's too cold in here with this fan on 2. *turns it down to 1* Funny, last night I had it on 1 most of the time and I was too hot, so I turned it up to 2. Tonight I started out with it on 2, and it made me too cold, so now I'm turning it down to 1. I guess my little reading lamp must put out a lot of heat, or else it's cooler tonight. Or my parents turned the air condition down really low. I swear, my mom would turn it down to 60 degrees if she could get away with it. As it is, I have to keep my door shut and my fan off in the daytime or else I'm too cold. And then she'll come in and complain about it being too hot in my room, and want me to turn on my fan or whatever, when she's only going to be in the room for five minutes or so while she checks her e-mail. At least she's gotten better about closing the door on her way out.

*goes out to the kitchen and gets a drink of water* Hmm, looks like I've carried this thing for another 15 minutes. 15 to go, then. This is pathetic, heh. I wonder if anyone is actually ever going to read this whole thing? If you've gotten this far, I can tell you, this thing is a complete waste of time. I know, I'm writing it, lol. And it's not going to get any better from here. This thing has only been going downhill, from the very start. Get out while you still can.... Still here? Whatever, it's not like I care anyway.

I need a new book to read. Then I'd have something to do right now. I always enjoy reading late at night. But I'm saving all my money for F-Zero GX. My mom said she'd get me a book before we leave to go on our camping trip, so I'd have something to read on the way there and back, but that's over a week from now. So that does me no good now. Bah. I need more income. I really doubt anywhere in town besides maybe fastfood type places would hire me, though, so a summer job isn't much of an option. So with that out of the question, I think I'm just screwed. Whee.

Ugh, what now? I think I'm running out of thoughts. My brain is shutting down. Probably going into that state where you're not asleep, so you're not getting much actual rest, but you can't think straight or do much. That's what happened last night, when I ended up laying in bed for about three hours before I finally fell alseep. Damn I hate that. It's so dang frustrating, not being able to fall alseep when you're dead tired. So often, I've wished that people could fall asleep on command. That would make things so much easier. I would be alseep right now, if I could do that, instead of typing out this stupid thing. I'm not even sure what to call it anymore.

Hmm, nearing the one hour mark. Guess I should wrap this up, then, shouldn't I? Well, congratulations, you've just read through an hours worth up completely pointless rambling by yours truly. (Why the heck did I just say that? I hate that...that...well, whatever you'd call it, I hate it). Of course, knowing my luck, I'll hit the post button and something will screw up, and this whole thing will end up lost and all this will never been seen again. Not that that would be a bad thing, come to think of it, but I suppose it wouldn't be much of a good thing either. So far I've played for about seven and a half hours, and I'm at 36%. (I'm just about to go release the second Krozoa Spirit, for anyone that's played it). So I'm a decent ways into the game, and for the most part it's been pretty fun. Fun enough to keep me playing for a few hours straight, anyway; something that most games just can't seem to do anymore. I get that feeling of "I want to see what happens next.... I'll stop after I get just a little farther." Which then turns into another hour or more of playing, heh.

There are some things that have really annoyed or disappointed me, though. One of the biggest things is how most of the "puzzles" consist of going and collecting enough of an item and then using them to open the way to a new area with new items to collect, and so on. The game really could use some more variation, though there is some other stuff. Next would be pretty much the whole combat system, which feels like a bad clone of the Zelda: Ocarina of Time combat system. The auto-targeting is really annoying when you're trying to fight multiple enemies. The only thing that makes it bearable is that only one enemy attacks at a time, which is one of the things that disappointed me. As soon as you defeat one of the enemies, however, you usually get hit in the back as you're turning around to target the next enemy.

The the actual fighting is also stripped down from what there was in OOT. All you do is tap the A button, to do the same combo over and over again. And once you hit an enemy, you can just keep it in the combos until it dies, since they can't move while being hit, and the last hit in the combo kocks them down, giving you enough time to start another combo so that you can beat them with your staff while they're on the ground. or getting up. What attacks the enemies do have, however, seem to be almost impossible to dodge if you want to be close enough to counterattack. Then, of course, they leave themselves open while attacking, so you can just smack them and start the combo string. So you rarely get hit more than once from a single enemy.

I think the main thing that's making this game enjoyable for me is the exploration and the story. Some of the areas in the game are really fun to explore, which makes the "find this thing and bring it here" tasks a lot better. And the story is interesting, also. I kind of already know a big spoiler (I beat the end boss for a friend, heh), but in a way that makes me want to keep playing to find out more about how that spoiler fits in with the story. Also, the special abilities for the staff help to make the combat a little more interesting, and they also add the puzzle elements in the game. I still wish there was a better targeting system, though; that would make two of the abilities that I've got so far a lot easier to use against flying enemies. As it is, I have to aim manually, which is a pain.

I'm also still playing Zelda: A Link to the Past (GBA version) and Chrono Trigger. LTP is mainly an off and on thing, playing just whenever I get bored and feel like playing a GBA game. Chrono Trigger, I only have a few things left to do before I beat it again and, hopefully, get another ending. Then I get to go back and beat the end boss again right away, and probably get yet another ending from that. After that, though, I doubt I'll play it again for quite a while. Most games get pretty old after playing through them two times in a row, heh.

A Link to the Past Never Disappoints
Playing through Zelda: A Link to the Past again (the GBA remake, that is). It's still fun after all this time. Almost as much fun as my first time playing it, in fact. Seems like whenever I play through it, I always find something to do in it to make it interesting. Like this time, I'm trying not to use the Boomerang very much, and instead I'm using the Bow & Arrows a lot. Also, I'm using a trick to avoid one of the major boss fights in the game (major to the storyline, anyway). So I'm kind of wondering how that's going to work out, since you're supposed to have to fight him. (It's the fight with Agahnim in Hyrule Castle, where he sends both you and Zelda to the Dark World). I guess this is why A Link to the Past is my favorite game ever; even though I know the game inside out from playing through it time and time again, I can still have just as much fun with it as any other game. *runs off to play some more*

Stolen From Solo's Blog....

What type of Bishounen are you? Find out at artificial-soul.net by Rin.

Yeah, that's me. Cool, this one looks a lot better. And hopefully it'll be more reliable, too.

Zelda Encyclopedia
I've finally started work on my own Legend of Zelda encyclopedia. I'm using the same basic layout as the Hyrule Encyclopedia on Zelda.com (because there isn't really anything better), but I'm writing all new, original entries for everything. Also, I'll be writing entries for things that they missed, and adding entries for things not in the games themselves. So, like, if something is only in the A Link to the Past comics than ran in Nintendo Power, I'll still have an entry for it under the "Other" catagory. (Noted by Z*, instead of Z1, Z2, Z3, etc.)

So far, I've gotten the "A" section mostly complete. I'd like to have the whole thing complete in about a month, but I doubt it'll get done that fast. I'd really, really like to get it done before school starts, though. And after I finish writing it, I'll have to put it up on my site, which will take a long time to do. I'm planning on having it totally cross-indexed, so that you can click on any name and have it link to that entry. So like if you were reading the entry for Link, and it mentioned Hyrule, you could click on the word "Hyrule" and it would take you to the entry for Hyrule. I'd also love to get pictures to go along with the encyclopedia on the site, so that if you clicked the name of the entry, it'd take you to a picture of the thing.

So yeah, that's my plan for it. Now, I just hope I can stay motivated enough to carry out the plan, heh.

Was I really that depressed?
*looks at my last post* Geeze, it looks a lot more depressing now than when I wrote it. Maybe I should have just scrapped the whole thing. . . . Oh well, too late now. Even if I were to delete it, people've probably already seen it. Onwards, then!

Chrono Trigger
Yes, I've finally started playing this awesome game! I have to say, it's one of the best RPGs I've played. It just sucks me in and I can play for hours without even realizing it. I must have played for around six hours yesterday/this morning, and the only reason I stopped was because I had other things that I needed to get done. (Mainly, moderating the Otaku Series forums and just posting on OtakuBoards). I've already played for about 10 hours altogether, after only about two days.

I also love most of the music in it. Frog's theme and Lucca's theme are my two favorites, and I've downloaded some midis of some of the music. (I'm actually listening to a midi of Frog's theme right now, heh). To me, the music in a video game is pretty important, depending on the type of game. It can really help to set the mood, and I think it does that pretty well in Chrono Trigger. I just wish I could find a better midi (or mp3, that would be the best) of Lucca's theme.

[no subject]
(sigh) . . . I'm bored, so I figured I might as well post in here. Nothing better to do, with OtakuBoards still down for the server change. I don't really have much to say, though. Well, I suppose I don't really have much to say ever, actually. My life isn't exactly interesting.

Hmm. . . . What to talk about? This happens every time I sit down to write a post in this thing. I mentally go through the list of possible subjects in my mind, crossing out the ones I don't want to talk about. And, inevitably, not much is left. I don't like to get too personal while writing in here, so there goes a few possible subjects. Then there are a couple that there's no way in heck I'm going to talk about with anyone. Then there are the stupid ones that would probably sound like whining. So, yeah. . . . Not much worthwhile stuff goes on in my life.

I suppose a sort of journal of my thoughts would be kind of hard to write for, though, considering I don't think about much. Heh, I suppose it also doesn't help that I'm not a very talkative person to begin with, either. Not much to go off of.

[paragraph deleted]

Yep, that was one of the stupid ones. Posting it probably would've just made me look (more) like an idiot, heh. Actually, I feel like just scrapping this whole post. I don't know why I should even bother posting this, there really isn't anything worthwhile here, just a ramble. I guess I will, though, just to post something. Oh well. It's nice and green with all the plants (combined with a Mossy Carpet and Ivy Wall), and I think the placement of some of the rocks looks really good next to the Master Sword. ^_^

This is really sad. . . .
It really is. I'm actually seriously considering playing through Metroid Fusion again, for the third time in a row. I mean, sure, I did that with Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, but that would only take me about two hours to beat. Metroid Fusion takes me about five.

Now, the reason this is really sad, is because I have Chrono Cross just sitting on my shelf waiting to be played after I finish up Pikmin. (Only one more ship part to go before I beat it). If I start Metroid Fusion again, however, that probably means putting off Chrono Cross yet again until I beat Fusion. (Once I start playing Fusion, I get sucked in and I can't play anything else at the same time, lol). I've been putting it off since February when I get the Zelda: OOT/OOT Master Quest bonus disc, so that's what . . . four months now? Yeah, four months. . . .

Didn't I tell you this was sad? I feel like somebody should be smacking some sense into me about now. By the same token, though, I've loved almost every one of my systems like that. There's just something about the games on the GBA, though, that make me want to play them over and over again. I don't really know why, either. I mean, I have six fantastic games for my GCN that I like just as much as most of my GBA games, but once I beat them that was it, I didn't really want to play them any more for a while. (With the exception of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Super Smash Bros. Melee).

Like just now, I started a new game on Metroid Fusion. Only about a week ago, I managed to get 100% of the items in the game after beating it, yet here I am playing it again and having just as much fun, if not more, than my first time through. (I only had 50% of the items when I first beat it, by the way, which explains why it seemed so difficult).

And it's not just Metroid Fusion, either. I played F-Zero: Maximum Velocity for hours and hours, even long after I beat all of the grand prix circuits on the highest difficulty. Same thing with Mario Kart: Super Circuit. (I have an absolutely amazing time trial ghost on Rainbow Road, and I managed to beat the game testers' lowest time). And then when I got Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, I played through it three times in a row, doing absolutely everything there is to do in the game on each of the save files. Then with Zelda: A Link to the Past/Four Swords, I played through the LTP game twice in a row, and I also played Four Swords with my friends as often as I could for quite a while. Then I really started playing Metroid Fusion (Metroid Prime, Zelda: LTP/FS, Zelda: OOT Master Quest, and Zelda: TWW had been keeping me busy, so I didn't play too much of it for a while), I played through and now I'm starting over like I said. The only GBA game that I own and haven't played through multiple times/hours on end is Super Mario Advance, and that's because I never did like SMB2 as much as the other 2D Mario games.

So, yeah, I think I'm obsessed with the GBA. Especially since I got a GBA SP. I'm still amazed at how small the thing is when it's folded up, and I enjoy just flipping the screen open, then closed, then open, then closed, then open. . . . Okay, yeah, I don't just think I am, I know I'm obsessed with the GBA. ^_^

Perfection Obsession

What's Your Obsession?
brought to you by Quizilla

I saw it coming, but I'm too honest to cheat. . . . *sigh*

The ironic thing about this result, though, is that the "i" isn't capitalized, heh.

You are the green ducky. But anyway, if you've heard the title screen music from Pikmin, that's the music I do it to.

If you're wondering why the heck I brought that up, it's because I finally borrowed Pikmin from my friend (after more than a year of him owning the game), and I did the dance when I first saw the title screen. It just doesn't work! (And I'm not even going to go into the gender change issue). One Triforce piece per person. If I were both, I'd have to have both Courage and Wisdom, and that just doesn't work. The Triforce always gets split up into three pieces, and goes to three different people, if it's touched by someone without all three essences in balance. The only way the Legendary Hero could have more than one piece is if he took it from one of the other two by force, was given it by one of the other two, or both of those.

Bah...enough of that.

Ocarina
I finally ordered an ocarina from www.songbirdocarinas.com! (I kept forgetting, heh). I can't wait till it gets here and I can start learning how to play it.

Zelda: The Wind Waker Banners
I posted these on OtakuBoards already, but I figured I might as well put them up on here, too.

This one I actually made a while ago, maybe a couple weeks before the game came out. I've also been using it in my OB signature ever since.

This one started out as a banner for someone else on OB, but then it kind of drifted away from what he wanted. I liked it, though, so I kept going with it, and it turned out to be one of my favorite banners that I've made so far.

When I posted the Keepers of the Forest banner on OB, I was encouraged to make more of these. That gave rise to these two banners.

This one I actually made just last night/morning. I had decided to make a banner focusing mainly on Link. When I started, I was actually planning on having more pictures in it, but as I tried to fit them in, I realized it actually looked better with just the one picture of Link. As I said on OB, I think it gives the banner a sort of fresh, clean look, which I like after making those other four banners that have a lot in them. I'm actually thinking of swapping this one for the first one, in my OB signature.

Yep, I was right; I wasn't able to get to sleep after that post. I decided I'd write about something that I've been thinking about a lot lately, and that was the first thing that came to mind when I tried to think of a title.

Now, when I say "loneliness," though, I don't mean it in a general way. I've got friends, and we do stuff together often enough. More specifically, I mean it in the "wanting a girlfriend" sort of way. I want someone closer than just a friend, someone I can share the things with that I don't want to share with others.

So what's the problem? I know a couple of girls that I like and are friends with, so why not go for it? That's where the common sense comes in: I know that any relationship that I get into now would probably not be what I'm really looking for, and would probably end quite badly. Bottom line, I realize that I'm probably just too young to be able to have a serious relationship.

So that's the situation... I want something I know I can't have yet, and it's starting to drive me crazy. It's also making me act kind of nervous around my two female friends. This annoys me because I know it's silly, yet at the same time, I can't really do anything about it. I know this whole thing is stupid, that it would never work, yet I can't just squash my feelings and make them go away. (And that's something I've worked very hard at being able to do, for quite a long time... Which also annoys me, because it's not working this time).

I mean, I'm not even really interested in the physical side of a relationship. (Except for my stupid teenage hormones, that is, which I hate more than anything else in the whole world right now. Seriously, there've been times where I've felt like just punching myself in the gut because of them). I just want someone to be there for me, and to be there for. Kind of like what I said earlier, I want someone that I can share my feelings with, instead of trying to squash them.

Now, I suppose I should make this clear: I'm not asking for advice. If I was, I'd be posting this on OtakuBoards, along with all the other stupid "boy/girl trouble" threads that seem to be popping up in Otaku Lounge lately. In fact, I think I already know the answer to this dilemma. (Believe it or not, the answer just came to me as I was typing this).

That is, God is trying to tell me something, and I think I know what it is. He's trying to tell me to go to Him with my feelings. I don't need a girlfriend to share my feelings with; I can already share anything with God, and he's a better listener and comforter than any human can ever be.

Hmm, now I think I kind of see why people keep these things around. For the first time that I can remember, talking about something has actually helped me with it.

5:00 AM...
...and all is now apparently well--almost. The problem is, why the heck can't I get to sleep? I was tired earlier, and I felt like I was tired enough to be able to sleep, so I went to bed. No such luck, however. Aftering lying there for about ten minutes or so, I no longer felt tired enough to sleep. In fact, I was restless, so I got up, messed around on my computer for a while, and then went back to bed. Still no luck in getting to sleep. Now I find myself here, talking about these events in my blog. The question arises, "Will I be able to get to sleep after I finish this post?" I don't know, but I doubt I'll be able to for a while yet.

Sometimes I think I'm a bit of an insomniac. >_<

It's That Time Again
Yeah, been about a week, so I figure I should update this thing. Not a whole lot to say, though. (Maybe more things will come to me as I write). I've been having fun with my GBASP, though I've still mainly been playing Zelda: The Wind Waker. Um...hoping to get $10 more soon so I can order on ocarina.

Oh, here's something interesting that I can write about: My friend bit me on the head yesterday, lol. We were playing basketball at PE, and I had the ball. He was kind of leaning over me, blocking me from making a shot, and I was kind of also leaning over, trying to keep others from stealing the ball. I passed, and mid-judged just how far he was leaning over me, so when I stood straight up quickly, my head smacked right into his mouth. (And he has braces, too, so it really scraped my scalp). It hurt, though not too bad, and it bled a bit, but we were both okay after a few minutes. (And after I washed off the blood and stopped the bleeding with some wet paper towls in the restroom). So, yeah, now I can say my friend bit me on the head, heh.

Other Misc. Stuff
I've recently acquired a bowling pin. Apparently, one of my friends (not the one mentioned above) had one, and was going to get rid of it because he was cleaning out his room. I offered to take it, and he let me have it. So, now I've got a bowling pin sitting next to my monitor. Makes a great club (they're heavier than they look down at the end of the lanes), and maybe if I get two more, I'll learn to juggle them.

Um, lets see...anything else interesting happen in the last week? ...Oh, yeah, I had to do an insect collection for my biology class. I had three weeks to collect and label 20 insects (or arachnids, actually, though I ended up with all insects), but I ended up doing them all in the two days before I had to turn it in, heh. Collecting insects and spiders used to be one of my main hobbies, so I already had about twenty of them already pinned down. So I pretty much just looked up their english and latin names, made labels for them, and pinned them down with the labels in a box I got to keep them in. I ended up only having to actually go out and catch one insect, and my collection was the best one there, lol.

Hmm, I think that's pretty much it for now. Until next time...

Well, it looks like something in my life is working out well lately... My brother came up from the bay area this weekend (he's actually still here, since he decided to take today off), and he paid me for cleaning up the dog crap. (It's his dog, and he couldn't take it with him, so he pays me to clean up its crap). That came to $60 (three months worth), which I was expecting. What I wasn't expecting, however, was the additional "1" in the hundreds place on the check. I had completely forgotten about it, but I guess he still hadn't been able to give me a birthday present, so that's what the extra $100 was. The first thing I thought, and said, when I saw the check was "wow." ^_^

Now not only will I be able to get a GBASP, but I'll also be able to get an ocarina from www.songbirdocarinas.com, something I've been thinking about getting for quite a while now. It says they're easy to learn to play, and it'll be cool to have an ocarina that actually looks like the Ocarina of Time. I've always liked the sound of wind instruments, and I like the sound of them from the little audio clips on the site, so it should work out pretty good.

For Ginny
We had to read this for homework in my english class, and I thought you might like it. *grin*

Margaret Fuller Slack, I've sat in my room playing video games and using the computer for the last four days. Nothing interesting has happened during that time. Interesting things barely ever happen to me/around me. Probably because I spend so much time in my room, away from the outside world.

Sometimes I really feel like I need to get out... And then I remember that I don't really have anywhere to go. I have a few friends, but really, it seems like all we ever do together is exactly what I do alone, only with two people. (That being, play video games and the like).

And then there's school. I used to like (most of) my school work. It was interesting, learning new things, back in grade school, and even somewhat in junior high. The older I get, though, the less I seem care about school, and the less interesting it becomes. Actually, it seems like everything is less interesting anymore. Now, this wouldn't bother me so much, except that I have a really hard time getting myself to do something if I'm not even the slightest bit interested in it.

Now, if we follow this train of thought, we must come to a conclusion at some point. That being, if I'm getting less and less interested in school, that means I'm going to be putting less and less effort into it. And that means lower grades. And that, in turn, leads to me failing. And the more I think about it, the more likely it seems to me that I probably won't even make it through high school. And if that happens, I'm pretty much just screwed. Nice thought, eh?

Well, that "nice thought" has been following me pretty much constantly since I started high school. I've pushed it into the back of my mind a few times, but it always creeps back up to the front. It eventually gets to the point where I just want to crawl in a hole and ignore everything. Of course, I know that's impossible; you can't just ignore the world around you. It just doesn't work.

And that makes me pissed off. Not really pissed off at anything in particular, just pissed off in general. I usually end up just laying in bed or sitting in a dark room during this time, letting the same thoughts run through my head over and over again, until they tire themselves out. Then I cram everything into the back of my mind again, tell myself that it'll be okay, and go about "normally" again.

Of course, I usually should have been using that time to do school work or something like that, which makes it so I get farther behind or whatever. And that just makes the whole thing worse. So it's pretty much just a downward spiral. And the scary thing is not that I can't see the bottom, by rather, that I can. And what I see scares me more than anything else ever has.

Now, you'd think that'd give me some motivation to stop the cycle, wouldn't you? I sure do...but it doesn't. Remember the "crawl in a hole and ignore everything" feeling? Well, that's what it does. And that starts everything over again... And you thought I was only joking when I said I was screwed up, didn't you?

Maybe This Will Have a Point
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"And if all this lovey dovey stuff seems ridiculous to you the reader, let me just say sternly but lovingly that it is just as ridiculous as the overwhelming angsty stuff that I've been seeing lately (guilty of it too, though)."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, sorry about that, Ginny. When I started typing, I actually had a completely different point in mind. Then I just sort of went off, and, well...yeah...

Maybe I should put this part at the top, as a sort of warning about all the other stuff. Sometimes I wonder how many people actually take the time to read this. I mean, most of what I've posted so far has been utterly pointless crap. (Though I suppose I did kind of give out a warning with the title of the blog, that's not really what I had in mind when I thought of it). I mean, really, who wants to hear about what I'm doing in Animal Crossing? I'm not even really sure why I keep this blog around any more.

Animal Crossings
Today I took a picture of my house (first floor only, though). What you do is, you enter in all of the items you have in AC, and then enter the items that you want but don't have in your wish list. Then people can view your catalog of items and wish list, and offer a trade. (Or you can offer a trade). If you both accept the trade, you trade passwords for the items. It's all really easy with the setup they have, and it makes getting those hard-to-find items easier.

In other AC news, I finally got a Golden Axe! I donated one to the museum, kept one, and sold one for 15,000 Bells. As a result, I have almost a whole shelf free on my bookshelf. In fact, it's just the right size, and close enough to my TV, for a PS2. Hmm...

Master Questing
I went and picked up the bonus disc last Sunday, which has Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest on it. I'm playing through Master Quest currently, and have gotten up to the Fire Temple.

I was actually surprised by just how different some of the dungeons are. The only dungeon that hasn't been drastically changed, in the way that you go about exploring it, is the Forest Temple. (So far, anyway; I've yet to see the Fire, Water, Shadow, or Spirit Temples). Heck, even the Ice Cavern had some minor changes, and it's not even a full dungeon, just a mini-dungeon.

Animal Crossings
My quest to collect the entire Modern furniture set is starting to near completion. I think I have all the furniture in the set except a few pieces, and I'm going to be getting one of them (a modern sofa) from my friend the next time I visit his town. Now, if only I could get some more chess pieces to go with my modern stuff...

Crazy Redd visited my town yesterday. He had one thing for sale that I didn't already have, or at least that I could get elsewhere for much cheaper. It's not even like I mind paying a lot of money for something, if it's rare, but these were fairly common things. Stupid fox, trying to scam me out of my money.

Random Thoughts
My neck hurts. The last couple days, it's mainly just been my throat being sore in the mornings, and draining a bit. Hopefully it'll be all the way gone by Monday, when I'll probably have to start doing school again. (My mom has just been letting me sleep most of the day, to help me recover quicker).

This is getting really annoying, though. It seems like whenever I get well, it only lasts for about three months, at the most. Then I get sick again for a week, give or take a couple days. It seems like this has been going on for at least a year now.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest
Only a few more days left till I can go pick up the bonus disc from pre-ordering Zelda: The Wind Waker! I can't wait to play OOT Master Quest. I've had the urge to play through OOT again, off and on, so getting to play through a sort of special edition of OOT will be a real treat.

Animal Crossings
Hasn't really been very much going on out of the ordinary in AC lately. I did manage to get my town in perfect condition, though. Now, if I can just keep it that way for 30 days, I'll get a golden axe!

Random Thoughts
I have a Memory Card 59 label stuck to my PC monitor. I really don't know why I stuck it there. It just seemed like the right thing to do.

I also have a fake mouse sitting on my computer desk. I just found it sitting on my PC mouse one day, so I've kept it tucked in between my monitor case tower case ever since. Very handy, considering that I barely have anything to spend the couple hundred thousand Bells that I get pretty much every day.

I'm not quite sure what to do with it all, though. I'd send bags of money to my friends, but it won't let me send bags of money. So, the only way I'd be able to give someone money is if I visited their town... And that rules out all but two of my friends, who live in the same city as me. That, and I don't really want to give people a ton of Bells, since I'd pretty much just be paying off their house loans. I think they should have to earn their house upgrades.

So, yeah, I have about 450,000 Bells sitting in my account, and I have no idea what to do with them. Yay for me, lol.

Random Thoughts
You have no idea how much I need to use the bathroom right now... Most of it is sitting in bags of 30,000 Bells down in my basement, heh.

I've had AC for four days now, and in that time, I've gotten three house upgrades, all of which I payed off the day I got them... Yeah, I'm definitely fishing way too much. My orchard of fruit trees hasn't even started producing fruit yet, either. If I keep fishing as much as I am now, in addition to selling the fruit when the trees do start producing, I don't know what I'm going to spend all the money on. $_$

I can't wait till spring comes. Then there'll actually be some insects to catch with my net, which I haven't really been able to use yet. There'll probably also be new kinds of fish to catch, and everything won't just be all white because they're covered with snow. I'll actually be able to see my nice, dark green roof on my house, heh.

Random Thoughts
Uh oh...I think Animal Crossing is taking over my brain. I'm talking about the GameCube game Animal Crossing, which I've decided to buy, after I played my friend's copy for a while.

In this game, you start out by moving to a town, and you're the only human in town; all of the other inhabitants are cute talking animals. (Unless of course another player moves into the same town, in which case you can have two players living in the same town). You buy a house to keep stuff in, which you can buy at the town store or get from other villagers and various other places, you can talk and write letters to the other villagers, and just generally live life, doing pretty much whatever you want.

It really doesn't sound all that entertaining at first, but when you really know what all you can do, it starts to sound more and more fun. And then when I finally got to play it, it was actually more fun than I thought it would be. It's like the game grows on you. After playing for about an hour, I just didn't want to stop, heh. I can't wait till tomorrow, when I can go out and buy my own copy.

Random Thoughts
AuronLuver: DESBREKO IS CORRUPTING MEEEEE!!!
AuronLuver: shame on you ;)
Desbreko145: hee...
AuronLuver: bwee, Des is corrupting me, Des is corrupting me
Desbreko145: Corrupting people is fun. On one hand, it's the last school day in the week, but on the other hand, I usually have more work and get more tired. I suppose I do get to go to a Bible study on Friday nights, which is good. Bleh...Fridays are cool, but they suck at the same time. -_-

Been Thinking
You know how, a couple posts back, I said that there wasn't much happening, at least not that I wanted to talk about? Well, I still don't really want to talk about it, but I am anyway. Maybe it really will help, I dunno.

Anyway, ever since school started up again after Christmas break, I was really depressed. (I've been depressed off and on for the last couple years, actually, this was just a particularly bad time). Each day seemed to be worse than the last. Some days, before or after school, I would just lie on my bed and do nothing, just wallowing in self pity.

Then a few days ago, I couldn't even bring myself to get out of bed in the morning. I just felt like curling up and dying. But, after a few hours, I finally got up and made myself go about as normal. It sucked...a lot.

Then, when I went to church on Wednesday, something changed. I almost always seem to feel better when I go to church and worship, but it doesn't always last. I think something big happened, though. I haven't been depressed the last few days, and some other things in my life have just been going better. I really feel like God is working in my life, changing me... And I like the feeling.

I really hope this continues--I hate being depressed. I always feel totally worthless when I'm depressed, and that I'm never going to make it anywhere in life. Then thoughts of suicide follow...though I doubt I'd ever actually be able to bring myself to do it. It just makes me feel totally helpless (a feeling that I really, really, really hate).

But, I'm feeling better again, like I said. I think I'm going to be fine for a while now, too. I just hope it stays this way. It almost makes me sick when I think about what I'm like when I'm that depressed.

Random Thoughts
Great, just great... That long spiel about depression has driven all the weird thoughts from my brain. I want them back, dangit!

New Layout
So, what do you think of the new layout, eh? I suppose I did beat the Palace of the Four Sword in Zelda: A Link to the Past / Four Swords a few days ago. The boss was really cool, and you get to watch a second ending afterwards, which was also really cool... Heck, everything about that game is really cool.

Now I'm playing through A Link to the Past remake for the second time, third overall, since I played through the original A Link to the Past once before. Even though I know how to do everything, and where everything is, it's still lots of fun. I can't really explain why, it just kind of is... I guess that's why Zelda: A Link to the Past is my overall favorite game ever.

Random Thoughts
I really like the look of wet asphalt, when light shines across is.

There's an old key sitting on my desk... I mean, I get up, do school, sit round playing video games or on my computer (like now) for the rest of the day, and then maybe read for a while before I go to bed. Every day, over and over again. I mean, barely anything that's actually interesting ever happens.

Sure, playing games is fun, and I like talking to people on the net and stuff on my computer among other things, but nothing every really happens around here. I barely ever leave the house, except to usually go to church on Sunday and Wednesday.

And you know what the (kind of) scary part is? I really don't mind that much. As long as a can get a new game every now and then, I'm perfectly happy to stay in my room about 16 hours each day. (That's on a school day, anyway, since I usually do most of my school out in the living room or at the kitchen table). Really, the only time I leave the house for more than a couple hours at a time is on Friday, because I have some classes that I go to.

You know, I don't think I really have much of a point, really, I'd just never thought too much about this before. I wonder if I should start worrying about this, or if I should just go on not caring about it, like I do with so many other things? I'll probably end up going with the "not carring" option.

Tough Choices
As I said in my last post, my birthday was on January 3. I didn't really know what I wanted, so I just asked for money. Well, I got money, and I've decided I'm probably just going to get a couple GameCube games with it.

The problem is, which games should I get? I've been trying to think of some that I'd want enough to buy, and a few have come to mind. Now I'm trying to decide which ones I want more, which is always hard, since I don't want to waste $50 on a game I'm not going to play very much.

AE Gamer
I've started doing some work for AE Gamer, writing video game reviews and stuff. I figure it's good practice, since I've never actually written to much of this sort of thing. I like it, and it's something to keep me occupied, so that's good.

You should be able to tell which articles are mine by the "- Drake Desbreko" signature thing at the end. I'm mainly writing GameCube and Game Boy Advance reviews.

Random Thoughts
Whoa...I just realized that it's 1:40 AM. I had no idea it was that late. Guess that's what happens when I get up at 6:30 PM, though, heheh.

You know, I wonder if these thoughts are really random, or if there's actually a reason behind some of these thoughts? Probably best not to think about it. My head might explode if I do, and that could be icky... You know, what with the bits of brain flying about and splattering on the walls, and whatnot.

Bad Start
Well, 2003 sure started off bad for me. I got sick on the 1st, and have been sick ever since, though it's getting better. And what makes it even worse, was that I was sick on my birthday, Jan. 3.

Another Year Older
Yep, my birthday was on Jan. 3, and I'm now 15. Not that it makes all that much of a difference, since I'm still not old enough to drive and life hasn't stopped sucking any less than when I was 14. I just get to tell people that I'm 15 now, instead of 14. How fun.

Random Thoughts
I had chicken for dinner three days ago; the white meat. Whenever I just go to sleep when I get tired and get up when I'm not tired anymore, this always happens. I end up sleeping during the day, and being awake during the night. It gets really annoying sometimes, because everything interesting happens during the day.

Random Thoughts
I wonder what wet cotton feels like... Not just like an all cotton shirt or something, I mean like the stuff you get in the top of medicine bottles sometimes. Like, unwoven cotton.

I don't feel like typing much, so this is going to be short... My brother went back down to the bay area yesterday. I've been making good use of my new leather jacket that I got, and have been playing around with my digital camera that I also got. So yeah...two days after Christmas and all is well.

Random Thoughts
I wonder if it's politically correct to call this section "Random Thoughts," if there only happens to be one random thought.

Christmas Eve
Well, it's Christmas Eve, and I just wrapped up all my presents. The pile of them has been growing under the tree since yesterday. Don't really have anything planned for today.

Hopefully my brother will be able to make it up from the bay area today. Having car troubles, and it'd suck if he couldn't make it up for Christmas.

Time Flies
There's something different about Christmas this year. I dunno, it just seems like it came way too fast. A few months ago I was eagerly awaiting the release of Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion... Then all of a sudden they're out, and I've beat Prime about a month later, and now it's almost Christmas.

It seems like about three months have been condensed into about one month. It's like time just sort of went by, and I was only really taking in every other day or something. I dunno, it just doesn't feel like it should be this late in the year yet.

Something Different
You know, I'm not really excited about Christmas this year. Sure, I get stuff; that's cool. I give stuff; I like that. But that part of it just doesn't seem like it used to.

I think that's a good thing, though. It helps me to have a clear mind, and remember what Christmas is really about.

Random Thoughts
For some reason, I never really want to take showers. I don't know why, either. I mean, I know I'll enjoy it (I love hot showers, heh). I know I'll be better off for it... But before I actually start the water running, it just doesn't sound at all good to me. I wonder why that is.

For some reason, the power button on my PC only works one way now. I can use it to turn the PC on, but it won't work to turn it off. To turn it off, I pretty much just have to yank the power cable out of the socket. I don't see why it would work to turn it on, but not off, though.

After the Shopping, There's the...
...Wrapping. Two days till Christmas, and I've still got to wrap almost all the presents I've gotten people. Blurgh.

Wrapping sucks. I mean, you go out, you spend all that time shopping, looking for the right thing to get someone, you finally finish your shopping... And then you're still not done... That just doesn't sit well with me.

Oh well, at least it's not as bad as shopping, and I don't have to leave the house to do it. That's always good.

Coming Back to an Old Favorite
I find myself playing Super Smash Bros. Melee again, even though it's now over a year old. (Though I suppose I haven't quite had it for a year yet). I've still got stuff left to do in Metroid Prime, which I find fun, but I've still found myself just wanting to kick some butt in SSBM lately; and so I have been.

For mainly that one reason, the desire to keep coming back for more even after a year and more of having the game, I rate SSBM as one of my favorite games ever. Not too many games have done this, the original Super Smash Bros. the one that has done it the most. I've no doubt that SSBM will surpass the original, however, given the time to do so.

I love that quality in a game; that seemingly endless replay value. Heck, I was playing the original SSB all the way up till I got SSBM. That's, what...over three and a half years since it came out? It'd say that's pretty dang good. Very good indeed, considering that I played that game more than any other. SSBM seems to be the same way, and I love it just as much as the original. Certainly one of those timeless classics.

But anyway, I guess that's my little rant about SSBM for the time being. I usually do this every so often, talking about SSB, and then SSBM after I got it. The only difference now is that I'm not just talking to one of my friends, heh.

...I wonder if anyone is actually reading this, come to think of it.

Random Thoughts
I really like music from video games. It's great background music, for when you're doing something. Like right now, I'm listening to a remix of the Kakariko Village theme from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. There's no words, just the music, which I like.

This is something that has always bugged me... I love to write, normally, but I hate it whenever I'm forced to write about something I'm not all that interested in. Like when I have to write a paper for school... I'm usually so uninterested with all the topics to choose from, that I end up writing badly, and not getting a very good grade on the paper. It appears that I'm not a good writer, when infact, I'm actually not half bad. This pisses me off, because it means I'll probably never be able to do anything with writing, because I'm not good at writing school-related stuff.

Totally Random Crap
Right, uh, I'm over at my friends house, and it's late at night. And, well, I was playing around in Notepad, and here's what I came up with...

Splatter
Do you ever wonder why things are the way they are? I do sometimes, but then I realize that the puny minds of us humans can't possibly comprehend most things... So then I stop... Now I'm depressed. Thanks a lot. You just had to bring up that subject, didn't you? ...What? Oh, yeah...I brought up that subject... Now I'm even more depressed... *jumps off a tall building and splatters on the sidewalk below*

A couple hours later, a man happens to walk by... "Oh my God! This splatter looks like Elvis!"

Friends
Sometimes I get to thinking about my friends. I think about the things we do together... And then invariably throw up... But that's beside the point! ...No, really, it is. My point being...um... Dang, now I can't stop thinking about the things we do together, which in turn makes it so I can't stop throwing up. HHHHUUUUAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

Run On Sentence
One time, I was doing this thing, but then I stopped, and laughed, and I forgot what I was laughing about, but it was really funny, but anyway, I was doing that thing, and then my friend came up to me and asked if I wanted to do something, but I said I was already doing something, so he asked if he could do it too, and I said sure, so then we both started doing that thing--but I forget what the thing was, so now I'm sad, I don't know what to do, I feel so sad, it just makes me want to cry, maybe I'll just go do that other fun thing that I can't remember what it is for some reason, and maybe that will cheer me up, except I can't remember what it was, so I guess I'm just screwed.

Random Thoughts
Isn't it weird how almost all people like some things, and almost all people hate other things? Take chocolate, for instance. Pretty much every likes chocolate. What's up with that?

With Christmas only a few days away, the stores are getting pretty crowded lately. Isn't it weird to think about all these people, going out in some of the worst weather of the year to buy hundreds of millions of dollars worth of stuff? The people flock to the stores like ants to a sticky spot on the kitchen floor, pushing, shoving, trying to get as much as they can. Kind of amusing to think about, really.

I'm starting to get kind of tired, it being late and all... This tired feels more like the drugged sort of tired, though, like when you take a cold pill that makes you drowsy. Weird...I wonder why.

A Great Evil is Still Here...
Well, he's still here. He's actually sitting right next to me, playing Mario Kart 64 with my brother... While making nasty remarks the whole time, of course, and getting pissed when he loses.

So far it hasn't been too bad, though. Maybe if it doesn't get any worse, I'll be able to stand it... Though I doubt that'll happen, since it's getting worse as I type. Yeah, still getting worse. Worse yet... Finally, it's stopped for a couple seconds.

Banners
I found a way to do a cool effect on the text in banners yesterday. I mean, like, really stupid? I did earlier this evening. I think it's nice when you can laugh at yourself, when you do something idiotic. Makes life just a little bit more enjoyable.

A Great Evil Returns
Sigh...what I've been fearing was finally happened. That's right, one of my brother's friends has come back to town, and he's even more annoying than my brother is. Together, the two are almost unbearable sometimes... Even if it is nice to have some other people to play video games with.

I don't know if he's staying, or how long he'll be here in town, but I just hope I can keep from losing it. Bleh, my room faintly stinks of cigarette smoke now, since he was just here and only left a minute ago. At least he doesn't actually smoke in in my room, but still. It can be very trying, having those two around.

Well, at least I have something pleasant to do tomorrow--wait, no, I guess it's actually today, since it's past midnight--which will be nice. The Friday night youthgroup thing I go to is having a Christmas party, so that should be fun.

Random Thought
You know, I keep getting more than one random thought every time I post an entry. I think I'll start doing more than one. So, I give you, the Random Thoughts section!

Random Thoughts
Do you ever take a shower, and make it so hot that it hurts when you first step in? And then, after a couple seconds, it starts to feel good? I love doing that. That's one of my favorite things to do in the winter, when it's nice and cold.

I also like it when my feet are really cold, and I step into a really hot shower and it hurts so dang bad right at first, but then it feels really good once they warm up. Aren't I just really screwed up like that?

Also, isn't it weird how, when you're really cold and then you step into a heated room, the heat almost actually makes you feel colder for a second as you realize just how cold you are? I think that's interesting for some reason.

It's 2:30 PM, and I'm sitting at my computer in a bath robe... Don't you like dinner, too?

Bah...going Christmas shopping tomorrow. Have no idea what to get most of my family. Year after year, two of my brothers always say to get them "something fun." ...Like that helps! >_<

It's not that I don't like shopping. Shopping is okay, as long as I've got money to actually buy things, and I'm not just wandering around looking at things and wishing I could afford them. It's the part about wandering around aimlessly, looking for something, when you don't know what that something is. That just annoys me. And that's what most of my Christmas shopping is, most years.

Random Thought of the Day
I really need to clip my fingernails... They're getting way too long for comfort...

I listen to the rain falling outside, the wind blowing, moaning through tree branches like some dying beast. I look out the window to see the streets drenched in wave after wave of pouring rain... And here I am, inside, warm and dry, looking out at the raging storm.

Makes you think about how nice it is to have a house, doesn't it? Shelter, a place out of the wind and rain and cold. Makes you grateful for what you have, doesn't it? So often we take things for granted. A warm house, a soft bed, everything that seems normal for every day living.

This, in turn, makes me think about Christmas, which is just around the corner. Christmas, the biggest retail holiday of the year, when people spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on presents. People always want more, always want something bigger and better. We so often forget, in this hectic season, to be thankful for what we have already, not just what we receive.

Myself, I have tried to focus more on what Christmas is really about, this year. I try, but still, I find myself getting swept up in the frenzy of shopping, and everything else that goes along with Christmas. But even so, I'll stop and really think, such as now. I think about what Christmas really means, and what it means to be a Christian. I think about how grateful I really am for everything I have. I think about how, when it really comes down to it, I always enjoy watching the rest of my family opening their presents more than I do actually opening mine. I realize I really do enjoy giving more than receiving.

And then, after awhile, my attention will be grabbed by something else. I'll return to the here and now of life, until the next time when my thoughts return to this subject. Those times when I'm usually just sitting by myself, letting my mind wander. Such as now, only I'm typing out my thoughts as I think them.

I guess my point, which, when I started typing, I really hadn't thought of yet, is that we should try to find these quiet moments every now and then. To reflect upon the true meaning of things, to get a better perspective on the world around us... And I think I'll stop now, because of run out of things to say.

Random Thought of the Day
For the first time in about a week, I was actually able to get enough sleep in one night, without waking up and not being able to go back to sleep. The result: I'm haven't been tired all day!

*wakes up at 6:30 AM, staggers over to my PC, and turns the monitor on* Nooo! "Painfully bright." >_< I can't say I'm too excited about the rest of the day, either... Well, at least I'll be fully awake during the day this time, since I actually slept last night. That's a plus, I guess.

You know, it occurs to me that I both love and hate sleep. I love it because, well, it's sleep. More sleep is almost always good. On the other hand, I hate it because it gets annoying to have to sleep.

I guess the reason this came to mind is because I've been up for quite awhile. Also, because my sleeping patterns continue to get more and more screwed up. For the last couple days I've been sleeping during most of the day, and staying up all night. I think if it weren't for school, my schedule would just keep getting later and later, until it flipped itself all the way back around to normal. (This has actually happened before, but I forced it, it didn't just happen on its own).

With that in mind, I expect Christmas vacation to be lots of fun, lol. I probably won't be doing much besides eating, sleeping, and playing video games. And of course, getting on the net.

Woo, my first post...exciting... Really, I mean, I'm ecstatic... Why won't you believe me? ...Oh, yeah, it's because I'm obviously lying. :P

Anyway, I've just stayed up all night (after sleeping during the day), and I've just had a cup of coffee. So, I'm fully awake, but feeling a little, ah, "wacky." Of course, part of that may be because I just spent a few hours talking to Flash, and then Elite, lol.

I also posted a Zelda RPG on OtakuBoards. My second RPG since joining over a year ago. I'm hoping it will do well, and maybe last a little longer than my first one did.

As for what I'm going to do next, I have no idea... Probably continue being bored. Who knows... Probably not you, as the title says. ;)
